* In December through April 21st, Birds of Paradise transforms into a co-living retreat. During these months, there’s no breakfast service. Guests can book a room and enjoy the house alongside other co-living/workation guests (adults only). The minimum stay in this period is 7 nights. At the doorstep of the Atlantic Ocean, situated in Vale da Telha, Aljezur, at the south west coast of Portugal and in a nature reserve, you find surfers paradise: Birds of Paradise.
Fully renovated in 2021 with respect for it’s natural surroundings, this boutique surf lodge is an inspiring, conscious, vibrant and easy-going space to rebalance, enjoy nature, (learn to) surf and have fun.
Birds of Paradise welcomes adults and children aged 8 and older, and we accommodate a maximum of 4 guests per booking to ensure our intimate and peaceful ambiance. Stays during the main season require a minimum of 4 nights and include a delicious and healthy breakfast. In addition surf lessons (for all levels), SUP-tours, dinner nights, bikes, yoga classes and massages can be booked. Expect phenomenal days spent in the ocean improving surf skills, flowing into a massage or yoga class, chilling at the solar heated (from mid April) salt water pool and enjoying an organised dinner in the garden or at the rooftop terrace with other guests.
In the winter months (December to 21st of April) we open as a co-living place. Our rooms can be rented per week or month and the rental includes free coffee and tea, super fast internet, floor heating in all rooms and living areas, daily cleaning of the communal areas and weekly room cleaning. All rooms have their own private work desk and there is the large table in the living room with enough space to work as well as the bar in the kitchen. Of course you can make use of all the new and modern facilities like the well equipped kitchen, the pool, surf board storage area etcetera. Perfect for remote workers, digital nomads or people that want to leave their normal work environment and experience co-working and get inspired in a beautiful natural environment with world class surf around the corner.

As big ocean lovers, we would like to let you experience the positive effects of the sea on your physical, mental and emotional health. Spending time around the ocean, and particularly when surfing, can improve mood levels and genuinely make you feel more alive. We feel energised and relaxed at the same time as our body delights in its natural environment. Being around water gives the brain and the senses a rest from overstimulation and stress levels will drop. Then there is the physical sensation after a surf session: feeling calm, at ease and happy.

The Lodge
This boutique surf lodge has 6 rooms and a maximum capacity of 12 adults, to secure a peaceful and yet vibrant holiday atmosphere.
There is privacy when you want it and lots of space to socialise.
Each room is unique, bright and beautiful. All of them have an en-suite bathroom, comfy and big beds, a work desk and chair, a closet with hangers, shelves and a private terrace or balcony. Our guests enjoy convenience and comfort with modern rooms, designed with bespoke decor and simple luxuries, with a laid-back surf and beach vacation in mind.
The garden is south facing and sheltered from the north winds. There are several (shaded) hang-outs and dining areas around the house, to make sure you can sit back and totally unwind.
What about a cold drink from the comfort of one of the daybeds, overlooking the turquoise salt waters of the heated pool?
