FROM FARO:
Faro airport is the closest airport.

By car
It is a 1 hour and 15 minutes drive away from the lodge and there are many rental options at the airport. We recommend http://www.luzcar.com

By public transportation
Comboios do Portugal (CP) has multiple daily train services from Faro to Lagos, with a journey time of 1.5–2 hours. Timetables and prices are available on the CP website.
From Lagos there is a bus to Aljezur (see here).

By taxi
There are many private transfer/taxi services available from Faro Airport.
You can, for example, book your ride in advance here.

FROM LISBON:

By car
From Lisbon Airport it takes about 3 hours by car to get here.

By bus
There are daily coach services from Lisbon to Aljezur.

By train
Combios do Portugal (CP) has multiple daily train services from Lisbon to Lagos.

~ HOW DO WE GET AROUND

The easiest way to get around is by (rental) car or e-bike. Vale da Telha, Arrifana, Monte Clérigo and Aljezur are situated in a natural park and the area is quite hilly. ~ WHERE WE CAN EAT?

There is a great choice of restaurants in Vale da Telha, Aljezur and at the nearby beaches. You could also join an organised dinner at the lodge or, in case you feel like cooking your own meal, make use of the fully equipped kitchen.

~ CAN I COME WITH A GROUP (MORE THAN 4 PEOPLE)?

To maintain the calm and relaxed atmosphere at Birds of Paradise, we generally do not accommodate groups larger than four. However, we understand that some occasions may be different, and in certain parts of the season, we may be able to make exceptions. If you're planning to visit with a group, please feel free to contact us via email, and we’ll be happy to see if we can make it work for your stay.

~ IS THE POOL HEATED?

Yes, but only from around mid April to around end of Oktober. The pool is heated via the solar collectors on the roof. In the winter months this energy is needed for the heating of the house. We try to be as environmentally conscious as we can and will only use solar heating for the swimming pool.

~ WHERE CAN I PARK MY CAR?

The car can be parked in front of the lodge for free.

~ CAN I COME WITH KIDS?

At Birds of Paradise, we welcome adults and children aged 8 and above. We’ve found this to be the ideal age for young surfers to begin their journey and truly enjoy the natural beauty and experiences we offer.

Our lodge is a small, intimate boutique setting, dedicated to providing a calm and laid-back atmosphere for all our guests. To preserve this peaceful vibe, we kindly ask that families ensure children respect the tranquil environment.
